About the foundation

How does the foundation raise money?

The foundation receives money through donations from
individuals and companies. Under donations, you will see that there are different ones
models to choose from for how the donation can take place.

Does everyone who applies get what they apply for?

The foundation has a board that makes decisions about which applications are to be granted and whether they can be granted in full or in part.

Can you apply for anything?

Yes, you can always apply. Then it is up to the board to make the assessment as to whether the application should be granted or not.

Can you apply for a custom-built car?

Yes, you can apply. But the board will probably not grant such an application. The whole idea of the Duchenne Family Foundation is to help many. Not a few with very big things. The number of people in Sweden diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is not that many, around 300 people. Our hope is that we will create a community through the foundation and that we will be able to give something to everyone.

Does all the money donated go to those who apply?

The majority of the donations go to things and measures for those who apply. Another thing that the donations will go to are events that the Foundation will organize.
There are a few other things that the Foundation has costs for, these could be printing costs, license costs for systems on the website, etc. At certain events, slightly more extensive efforts will also be needed and then the Foundation may need to hire staff on an hourly basis in addition to those who are volunteers.
The foundation has an authorized auditor and all annual reports will be on the website so that anyone can access them and see where and how the money has been distributed.
(no names of those who received grants will be published, but the sums of how much grants were distributed will be reported)
